Presented by

The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra
Saturday, February 6, 2010 - 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: Orchestra Level - $25 Balcony Level - $20
Glenn Miller disappeared on December 15, 1944. The bandleader went down over the English Channel on a flight from London to Paris at the height of his popularity. His recordings of In the Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Moonlight Serenade, and Tuxedo Junction among others kept Miller performing in front of sell out crowds and dominating the airwaves. Now, over fifty-five years later, both the music and the legend live on. The Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most sought after big band in the world today. Still considered the greatest band of all time, its unique sound is loved by almost everybody who cares for dance music. They are back to The Grand by popular demand.

James Gregory
Saturday, March 6, 2010 - 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: Orchestra Level - $25 Balcony Level - $20
For over twenty years, the unforgettable caricature of veteran comic James Gregory has stood grinning: his blue shirt untucked, his arms outstretched, a carefree welcome to a down-home, hilarious storytelling experience. The trademark caricature is the essence of James Gregory's comedy: whimsical reflections on life from the front porch. Ignoring the eggshells of the politically correct, Gregory pokes fun at everyone from health fanatics to animal rights activists, and his fans flock to hear him in droves. His success, like his comedy, has been initiated by the values he grew up with. Twenty-two years later, it is this unique humor that packs the crowds into his sold-out shows. The absence of vulgarity or profanity sets James Gregory apart, and his stories are a carefully-crafted art. "I have lived long enough to know people, know life," Gregory reflects. "My comedy is based on my experience. I want to make the whole country laugh. "Gregory returns to The Grand after his appearance in early 2007 when he sold out two shows in one evening.

Blue Highway
Saturday, April 17, 2010 - 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: Orchestra Level - $25 Balcony Level - $20
At the 14-year mark,
Blue Highway is indisputably one of the most esteemed and influential
groups in contemporary bluegrass. The band's eight exceptional albums and
compelling live performances
give proof to the stellar reviews, Grammy nominations, and numerous awards
earned by the band since it first took the stage on December 31, 1994. With a
deep bench of virtuosic songwriters, vocalists and instrumentalists, Blue
Highway's hallmark is an unwavering commitment to the ensemble, the “democracy
of the band” that makes Blue
Highway a powerhouse. Individually, Jason Burleson, Rob Ickes,
Shawn Lane, Tim Stafford, and
Wayne Taylor are masters
of their respective roles. Together, in Stafford's words, they are “a
democracy in the best sense of the word”: five gifted artists selflessly
merging their talents into a seamlessly
brilliant group sound.
As a result, the band moves from strength to strength, more mature and
impressive with each new album.
With eight highly-acclaimed albums to its credit, Blue Highway has garnered
two Grammy nominations, a Dove Award, topped the Bluegrass Unlimited radio
charts, and won numerous
International Bluegrass Music Association awards. Refusing to coast on
past glories, Blue Highway continues to push its music to new levels of
accomplishment. Artfully balanced between tradition and innovation, it remains
in the forefront of contemporary bluegrass music.
We are proud to continue our relationship with Bartow County Bank as the presenting sponsor of our series.
